High Stakes Wrestling has utilized their 30 day grace period to back out of Total Wrestling, and their official affiliation with Redemption.
HSW owner Ashton Crowley had this to say:
“The deal looked good, but as we began to look under the surface we saw that Showcase and Action Zone are both up and coming companies not looking looking to expand nationally, more comparative to an independent company than a national powerhouse. Revolucion is huge in Mexico, but has little penetration in the states. These companies need Redemption, and in turn Redemption needs them to feed them fresh talent. We don’t see how we benefit. We would rather compete with Redemption than be a third a wheel in a deal that makes no sense for us.”
In response, Redemption board member, Gwen Ashmore, who was the key figure in all of this, had this to say.
“HSW was very much going to reap benefits from this partnership. The money in potential cross over matches like Dante Saffron and Jake Mason, Casey Holliday and Destiny Starr, and many more, would have made a lot of money for both companies. And if Mr. Crowley wants to say these upstarts are feeders for is he doesn’t understand what we are trying to do. We are trying to help these companies grow. As wrestling grows, everyone gains.
Speculation is that just after the ink dried on the deal for Total Wrestling, an offer was made to carry HSW on Apple TV+, and this lead to the change of heart.
