Mountain Olympics
The beautiful red headed backstage interviewer is backstage with 2X. Xander stands next to her, his white wrestling trunks with the 2X Trademarked symbol in blue on them, with a white and blue matching scarf hanging down both sides of his next.
Next to him is Xavier Cross. He’s wearing matching trunks, with a body of baby oil in his hand. He pours some oil liberally into his palm then starts to massage it into his chest and stomach.
Suzy Connelly: What’s he doing (she looks to Xavier)?
Xander Hampton: Ask him, not me. You know he speaks right? He’s not just pretty to look at.
Suzy Connelly: Xavier, what are you doing?
Xavier Cross: I’m oiling up with baby oil. Look at this. Look how much this accentuates my pectoral muscles and my abdomen. Touch ‘em.
She hesitates.
Xavier Cross: Go ahead, I won’t pop a wood. I’m gay, so you’re not my flavor. Just...
He takes her hand and rubs it across his chest and stomach.
Xavier Cross: See, it’s magnifigant.
Suzy Connelly: Magnificent.
Xavier Cross: That’s what I said, magnifigant. How does anyone ever expect do beat us? I’m build like an I come from Mountain Olympics, and my man here, he’s smarter than Albert Weinstein. That’s not even hitting on the in-ring talent we both possess.
Xavier goes back to rubbing baby oil over his body while Xander steps back up for the interview.
Xander Hampton: This is simple Suzy-Q, we are the only team to beat. I mean look at the competition we have out there? A couple cattle herding sheep fuckers, two ex-cons that stink of bad sex and cigarettes, a couple jabroni teams lucky to be sharing the ring with talent like us...and then there’s Henhouse Slaughter. Foxie and Eddie, I guarantee you the two of them won’t win. As a matter of fact; I’m making a proclamation here and now. We’ll be the reason those two make a Brexit from the match when we toss those “tossers” over the top rope ourselves. You know what I heard, Suzy-Q? I heard that they already have our nameplate on the belts, so I’ll go ahead and formally invite you to our coronation next week. So if you’ll excuse us, we have a match that was made for us to win.
Xander slams the chest of Xavier.
Xander Hampton: Let’s go.
Xavier Cross: Dude, you smeared it. Now I have to start all over.
Word From the Commish
The show cuts backstage to commissioner Teresa LaChance, who is standing by with Suzy Donnelly.
Suzy Donnelly: I’m here with Teresa LaChance, who has an update on Derek Daughtery and an announcement to make.
Teresa LaChance: That’s right. My uncle, Derek, broke his neck and his collarbone earlier tonight. It’s not going to paralyze him or anything of the sort, but it will keep him away from Redemption for some time, so while he’s away, I’ll be the acting President of Redemption as well as commissioner.
Suzy Donnelly: And this big announcement?
Teresa LaChance: Yes, as for that. Coming up on June 20th is another special edition of Salvation, Battle by the Beach. At this outdoor event, I’m announcing that Jason Sandman will defend his World Championship in the main event against the currently undefeated Draco Dragotta.
About that time Teresa is interrupted when a strange man walks up to her with papers in her hands.
Man: Are you Teresa LaChance?
Teresa LaChance: I am.
Man: These papers are yours.
He hands her the papers.
Man: You’ve been served!
The man quickly exits. Teresa looks at the papers.
Teresa LaChance: …son of a bitch!! I’ll kill him!
Suzy Donnelly: What is it?
Teresa LaChance: I’m being sued by Stephen Rawlings…for sexual harassment.
In Her Grasp
The scene transitions to the elaborate dressing room of Jinx and Bael. The walls are painted with black with silver draperies inlaid with red lights. There is a long, black chaise with celestial designed pillows accenting it. Upon the chaise, lies the White Reaper, herself, Jinx. She is adorned in a raven black, body hugging dress with a loose flowing skirt with blood red handprints and red rhinestone inlaid on it. Her crimson beaded crown is atop her platinum white hair, her bare feet tucked beneath her. She has a very pleased look upon her ruby lips as she stares up at Bael.
Her Nameless are scattered around the room, Jinx’s eyes scan them quickly before looking back to Bael. She gives him a slight nod, which causes him to turn and scowl at each of them.
Bael: The High Priestess can no longer bear your presence. Now go! You are to retire to the prayer chamber until you are summoned. Is that understood?
One by one, they rise and scramble to the ante-chamber, Bael closing the door behind them. He turns to Jinx, his normally stern features, softening slightly as he bows his head to her.
Bael: Did I please you, my mistress?
Jinx smiles and rises to her feet, advancing towards Bael. She looks up at him, the thirteen inch height difference becoming more obvious. She lays her hand gently on his chest.
Jinx: Of course, you did, my darling. You pushed that weak, little man past the point of frustration. He KNEW he couldn’t defeat you so he had to resort to violence.
Bael: And that is exactly where we want him.
She notices a slight bruise forming on Bael’s temple and places her hand there.
Jinx: Allow me..
Her hand begins to glow with warm light as she chants in a long lost language. She slowly moves her hands down to his ribcage and doubles her efforts before stepping back, an inquiry on her face.
Bael cracks a rare smile, one that only Jinx sees.
Bael: Thank you, my goddess. Your touch has healed me, Now is there anything I could do for you?
Jinx holds up a crystal goblet with a smirk.
Jinx: I need their offerings, my sweet Bael. Mix each together then fill it with wine. Make sure you collect enough for the both of us. But before we move onto the sacrifice, We need to discuss poor, unfortunate Lucky. His defeat tonight will only fuel his rage. His need for retribution. (Smiling wickedly) But I will not grant a rematch without a few more “interesting” stipulations.
Bael smirks as he runs his massive hands down her slender arms.
Bael: I’ll make sure your plan will come to fruition. He has shown he’s no match for me and with what you have in store for him will have him in your grasp and begging for mercy in no time.
Jinx runs her fingers delicately up Bael’s biceps, smiling mischievously.
Jinx: He won’t enjoy being in my grasp, unlike you…
Bael wraps his arms around her and dips his head down to meet her lips as the scene fades out.
Voice of thought
The camera opens on a dark room. A projection screen stands alone and is suddenly lit. The sound of an old reel projector breaks the silence. Suddenly, a countdown from 5 to 2, then a blip, and footage of wrestlers from decades and decades back begins.”
A female voice off camera begins to speak.
Voice: “My family’s been in wrestling for as long as the modern wrestling’s been a thing. A lot of wrestlers boast being second or third generation, but when we came to America in the late 1800s, we worked the carnival circuit that was the start of the modern sport.”
Footage of a woman from the 1920s appears on the screen. She is handily tossing a man twice her size around, bending his arms behind his back at sickening angles.
Voice: “And then there’s great-great grandma. Pioneer of women’s wrestling. Brutal. Sadistic. Hated and feared til she finally died.”
The footage switches to an array of men’s teams from the thirties until the nineties, all delivering devastating tag tactics.
Voice: “And then there’s her nephews, grandsons, and more. When you’re a family of cruel, underhanded, brutal monsters, you sort of gravitate towards tag, honestly. It’s perfect. Being a bastard always works better with a partner. Which brings us to me.”
The project switches to color. A young Trixie Decker, pink hair, ripped apart gear, drags a woman’s face through barbwire as a larger woman behind her drops someone across her knee.
Voice: “I know I’m small. I know most of you see me and think easy target. But I started in wrestling doing two things: hardcore and tag. Three straight years of my career were almost nothing but tag. And as it is, I’m currently in multiple tag teams and carry multiple belts. But by all means, assume I’m the easy target. Assume I’m easy prey.”
The screen turns to an images of Anthony Cross and Trixie Decker side by side.
Voice: “Assume that I can’t work with someone who hates me. I’ve done it more than once. And even if he loathes me, I can completely respect Anthony. And after this is done, we’re gonna have gold.”
The screen bursts into flames and falls over. The silhouette of a woman is revealed when the screen collapses.
Trixie: “Whether or not they’re coated in blood is up to all of you.”
Tag Team Championship
Battle Royal
Adam Lowe: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the control center for Salvation, and this evening's presentation of Mile High Brawl, coming to you from Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado! Our penultimate contest is the Tag Team battle royale, where we award the victors the newly-reformed Tag Team championships! The participants are as follows: 2X, Anthony Cross and Trixie Decker, BRATS, Cash Money, Cattle Drive Crew, Emily Simms and Eric Church, Henhouse Slaughter, The Foster Brothers, The Nameless, Payne Project, Power House, Rikers Demolition Squad, and Skylark and Titus. Now, if you're thinking 'that's a lot of bodies in the ring at once'... you're absolutely right! I could spend all night relaying to you all the drama and intrigue that peppers this contest, but that's only for special occasions.
He smiles at the camera.
Adam Lowe: Like tonight! So let's set the table for our commentary team and get you to the crowning of the newest tag team champions!
The monitor snaps to life, showing the parade of teams. The action proceeds as Adam continues to relay information.
Adam Lowe: The first elimination of the match came at about the two-minute mark, when Titus was up on the ropes being doubled teamed by Cattle Drive Crew, and Skylark was down in the ring trying to recover from being hit by a double DDT from Simms and Church. Then Samuels and Johnson hit a big double clothesline on Titus, eliminating the young team from Gateway Academy first. The next big moment came about two minutes later, when Clay Cash and Eddie Money, a team believed to have been pulled from the match due to injuries at the hands of Power House, came rushing out to the ring to join the match and went right at Ozzie and Lita Powers, putting both of them over the top rope. This was when Rikers Demolition Squad, in the form of Jupiter and Zeus, came up behind Cash and Money and dumped both over the ropes.
Adam Lowe: Not long after this, came the next elimination when Simms and Church were battling it out with The Nameless, but Xander Maxwell and Xavier Cross snuck in behind Simms and Church and dumped them over the rope. They both stood there, taunting Simms and Church when Henhouse slaughter came up behind their rivals and tossed them as well. This is where things got a little out of hand. Maxwell grabbed two chairs, handing one to Cross, then both went back into the match despite being eliminated and went to work on Henhouse Slaughter, attacking both men, and eventually tossed them over the top rope before leaving the ring themselves.
Adam Lowe: The next elimination came a few minutes later. Anthony Cross and Trixie Decker were double teaming Envy of The Nameless, and managed to toss him over the rope using some surprising team work, putting The Nameless out. It was short-lived, however, when they moved on to fight with Lizzy and Landon Dalmon. While Trixie held Lizzy, Cross ran at her, she moved at the last minute, and Cross clotheslined his own partner, Trixie Dixie, over the top rope, eliminating his team. Once they got outside the ring the two started to argue with one another, until eventually Cross laid her out and left.
Adam Lowe: With five teams left, it became apparent to everyone that Seven was going to be an issue with his size, so it quickly became an 8 on 2 match, with the other teams focusing on Seven and JP. Seven tried to back into a corner and protect JP and force them to take him on, and he tossed over Landon Dalmon, but Dalmon’s foot never hit the rope and he managed to come back. Finally, it was the duo of Ryan Samuels and Jupiter that put Seven over the top rope eliminating Payne Project. Following that, Lizzie and Landon Dalmon had Brendan Foster against the ropes, trying to put him over. Michael came over and hit a low blow on Landon, then hit a DDT on Lizzie. Together then, the Foster Brothers hit a double suplex on Landon, and then together they tossed Lizzie over the top rope to put it down to the final three.
Adam Lowe: While the two celebrated it, Jupiter and Zeus grabbed Brendan while Samuels and Johnson grabbed Michael, and at the same time they tossed the two over the ring, putting the match down to the final two, and this is where I’ll send it down to the announce team of JJ Adams, Johnson McConnell, and Jayden Skiles.
----------
With four pretty big men left in the match, they all start to brawl with one another, Jupiter and Johnson pairing off while Zeus and Samuels pair off. The fists flying in what looks more like a barroom brawl.
Samuels starts to get the upper hand on Zeus as he gets him backed into the corner, and continues to unload, this time with repeated clotheslines. Meanwhile back in the other corner, Jupiter as Johnson pinned up hitting repeated knee lifts. Then both men turn toward each other and run, both nearly decapitating the other with a clothesline and falling to the mat.
JJ: This has been an action-packed contest from the opening bell, with drama, intrigue and hard hitting action! We're down to our last two teams--Cattle Drive Crew
JM: Only the best for our audience, JJ.
JS: Please. These idiots wouldn't cheer for anything unless we told them who's good and who's not.
JM: Always the cynic. But the Cattle Drive Crew seem like nice, good ol' boys.
Zeus comes out of his corner first, grabbing Samuels from the canvas and taking him to the rope to try to toss him over. Just as he gets Samuels to the ropes, Johnson comes running at him with a high kick, sending Zeus over the top rope, but he lands on the apron.
Zeus grabs the top rope, then catapults himself through the middle rope hitting a shoulder block on Johnson. Once he has him down on the mat, he starts some hard and heavy ground and pound action. Then he climbs off of him and starts to stomp his head over and over into the mat like a madman.
JJ: Zeus is putting his stamp on the tail end of this contest!
JS: He puts a stamp on everything. He's like a hammer, that one.
JM: Got a crush on the ex-cons, eh, Skiles?
JS: No more than you do over the Cow Flop Crew.
Samuels recovers enough and hits a big lariat from behind and drops Zeus to his knees. Then out of nowhere Samuels is speared from behind by Jupiter. Then he shouts at Zeus, the two lift up Johnson and toss him over the top rope, eliminating him as the officials call for the bell.
Trinity Nicole: Here are your winners, and the NEW Tag Team Champions... Rikers Demolition Squad!
JJ: And that's it, folks! We have new Tag Team Champions!
JM:Good show by everyone involved here tonight; it just looks like the Demolition Squad wanted it more.
JS: Anything's better than the Country Bumpkins as champs.
Jupiter and Zeus, the two members of Rikers Demolition Squad, stand tall in the ring as they are handed the tag team championship belts, receiving a mixed reaction from the crowd.
JS: This crowd has no idea what's good. this is the FUTURE of the division, right here
JM: Didn't you just say, last week--
JS: I've changed my mind. Woman's prerogative.
JJ: Before these two start fighting, let's get out of here. We'll be right back with the main event of the night, folks!
The camera fades to black.
